Introducing Cultural Sustainability in ICCPR

Cultural sustainability was discussed by a number of presentations in the International Conference for Cultural Policy Research (ICCPR) in Barcelona, July 9-12, 2012. A special panel on “Investigating Culture, Cultural Policy, and Sustainable Development” was be organized by the COST Action and Chaired by Dr. Nancy Duxbury. The panel will highlighted some of the research underway by the Working Groups and individual members of this COST Action.  See the panel description.

The papers presented in the panel:

- Karni Lotan: Analyzing the Subjectivity of Incentives. Toward a New Approach in Integrating Subjective Behavioral Parameters in Sustainable Development Policy. (Will be uploaded later).

- Katriina Soini & Anita Kangas: Exploring Culture in Sustainable Rural Development

- Jenny Johannisson: Sustainable Development and regionalization in Swedish Cultural Policy

- Nancy Duxbury, Joao Mascarenhas Mateus, M. Sharon Jeannotte and Caroline Andrew: Culture in Sustainable Communities: Integrating Culture in Community Sustainability Policy and Planning in Canada and Europe 

 

 

Prof. Svetlana Hristova, a member of COST Action, acted as discussant and raised up a number of interesting issues for the discussion and for assisting the further development of the papers. 

In addition to the panel, the some Action participants presented their papers linked with our topic in other sessions.
